The annual culinary festival Fête de la Cuisine will be held this year for the 10th time. The event will take place from November 6th through November 13th 2016 in St. Maarten.
Taste of St. Maarten
This half French, half Dutch island is home to more than 100 nationalities and is therefore dubbed the melting pot of the Caribbean. No wonder that the local cuisine offers a diversity of foods and flavors. Visitors to Fête de la Cuisine will get a chance to sample these different foods during the food market "Taste of St. Maarten", prepared by local chefs on November 11th, our national holiday. A full dine around program has been arranged for visitors to sample the international cuisine of St. Maarten, which is the culinary center of the Caribbean.
Top chefs from the Netherlands
The organization has invited 4 top chefs from the Netherlands to participate in the Fête de la Cuisine. During the week of the festival they will demonstrate their cooking skills at a food/ wine pairing event, a 5 course grand cocktail and dinner evening and attend a super bbq beach party event with local chefs.
The invited chefs will also be engaged in a social activity with students of the local culinary institute and the derailed youth of the St. Maarten. Part of the proceeds of the culinary week will be donated to the institution for youth dropouts. So come and be part of this extravagant week on our Friendly Island!
